How much deception is OK?

I have a question for the ladies (and men)......

I get that there is a bit of marketing and sales in the ads and posts of the ladies.... and that is to be expected.... Personally, I have no issues with "I am the best/hottest/sexiest/horniest fill in the blank" and "I am better/younger/hotter/cheaper than the rest" and "you won't regret calling me".... all of that I consider marketing.

Here is my question. When does "marketing" cross the line to "lies and deceit"?

Pictures: In my opinion, they need to be you. If it is not you, (let us say for security reasons) you need to identify that fact and the pic should be very representative of you. They also need to be current. Less than a year old.

Age: I assume that ages are within 5 years of being accurate. Anything more than that in my opinion is deception.

Height/Weight: I assume that this is within 10-15% of being accurate. In other words, mostly for security reasons, I have no issue with a lady being 2-3 inches off and 10-15 pounds off.... I have no issue with it being 100% accurate either.

Body type: Here is where I have the most issues...... If you say "petite" then be "petite". If you say "athletic" then be "athletic" if you are "average" then be "average" if you are "BBW" then say so.

I also hold ECCIE members to a higher standard than the providers who aren.t.

Any thoughts or comments?

Just sayin....
I totally agree with all your saying.
I agree, and try to minimally change photos for my protection(i.e. blur tattoo, face, things of that nature) I also whole heartedly believe that your either gonna like my body type, or see something in me that will make you want to initiate contact. I think physical deception is a huge no-no in this arena... Since you have to be attracted....to enjoy your time.

In this aspect I expect more for VP's, that may fly with BP and other non trackable sites, but gotta have some standard of ethics(I know first hand they exist in the hobby).

I think it boils down to the Hobbiests satisfaction in the end.... And they need to know what we look like, sucks I'm so paranoid, I do have a pretty face :-P

Physical attraction is a huge thing for men and you are right, men will either be attracted to a "type" or not.....

Physical DECEPTION is unacceptable, in my book. I have no issue with a lady fudging a few years about her age..... especially if she doesn't look it.

Katy Segal is HOT and she is 58 years old (Sons of Anarchy)... does not look her age.

I have no issue with minor "details" being changed, faces blurred, tattoo's blurred, etc. on a current pic. I saw pics of a lady that were clearly maked that they were recent, but had been taken BEFORE she got a new tattoo. She also had pics of her after her tattoo. Again, a complete picture and a "full disclosure".

One of the Austin adorables used a stock photo of a nude blonde taken from behind, as an avatar for a while. While it was NOT her, it looked very much like her from behind. When she was complimented on it, she was clear to tell people it was not actually her. (However, IMO, as it was a very good REPRESENTATION of her, I had no issue with it).

Posting a 10 year old pic of yourself is, IMO, unacceptable. Plain and simple. (Unless you want to clearly state that "this is 10 year old pic").

I saw a BP lady one time, her pics were beautiful, however, they were taken years ago, were taken before her baby and had been digitally altered. Shameful, but expected on BP.

Unacceptable on ECCIE.
