WHERE???

Need help. Best area to stay in Amarillo? ? Or places to avoid?

Lots of places. Country Suites on Soncy is nice.

I have stay at several places on I-40. Depends what you are looking for.

I like to stay over by Soncy and I-40. There is nearby shopping and numerous restaurants.

As they say around here, Amarillo isn't close to anything, but it's about half way to everything. Because of that we are well represented by chain motels and restaurants the entire length of I-40. Generally speaking the further west the better, and if it says medical or hospital they are usually better. But the beauty of Amarillo is you can get anywhere in it with a very short drive, assuming you don't have get thru one of the streets they are "improving."
