In a sea of insanity on the Democrat’s side, Hawaii’s Rep. Tulsi Gabbard seems to have at least some kind of semblance of a head on her shoulders. The left is screaming for President Donald Trump’s impeachment, but Gabbard is making the case that this is a bad idea and would only “tear the country apart” even more.
And she’s right.
According to the Daily Wire, Gabbard appeared with Greta Van Susteren on her show “Full Court Press,” where Van Susteren asked if Gabbard was in support of the House Judiciary Committee’s vote for an impeachment inquiry:
“Congress is coming back this week and the House Judiciary Committee is planning on voting on an expanded impeachment inquiry. Do you support this?” Host Greta Van Susteren asked during the premier episode of her new show “Full Court Press.”The majority of Democrat lawmakers are pushing for impeachment proceedings, but Gabbard seems to be one of the few on the left paying attention to the polls. Only 11 percent of Americans in July said that they believe Trump could be impeached according to a Rasmussen poll. An August Monmouth poll showed that 59 percent of Americans believe Trump should not be impeached.
“I don’t,” Gabbard replied. “You know, I think it’s important for us to think about what is in the best interest of the country and the American people, and continuing to pursue impeachment is something that I think will only further … tear our country apart.”
“Make no bones about it: We need to defeat Donald Trump,” she continued. “But, I think it’s important for our country’s sake and our future that the voters in this country are the ones who do that, and I believe we will.”
Americans just aren’t into the idea of impeachment, and proceeding down that path would be a large waste of time and effort on the Democrat’s part. In fact, it would be harmful as Democrats would be seen pushing an agenda American doesn’t want.
But trying to find a way to oust Trump without winning an election is something Democrats have been trying to do for some time now. The Russia investigation was a drum Democrats beat well after it was revealed that Trump was innocent of all charges, trying to generate hearing after hearing and coming up with narrative after narrative to make Trump seem guilty.
As I’ve said before, Democrats don’t think they can win 2020 and haven’t thought that for some time. They put a lot of time and effort into trying to cripple Trump instead of boosting their own candidates. Perhaps if they did pay attention to their own elections, then there would be more positivity and substance to the Democrat candidates. They’re not, proving that the Democrats think that none of 2020 primary players are up to snuff.
Gabbard is the only one who seems to see the forest for the trees.
