NWA Backpage

Is it just me, or has there been an incredible spike in the number of escort ads on Fayetteville's Backpage recently? I just checked yesterday's posts, and there's dozens of ads for just one day. I'll link the page here, but try to check out May 13 to get an idea of what I'm seeing. http://fayetteville.backpage.com/FemaleEscorts/ I've seen weeks with fewer posts than that. Not only are there more, but they're getting more graphic, with much more blatant offers in the tag-lines and inside content. At first I was glad to see the variety, but there's no way this can last without someone in LE getting getting pressure to stop this.

Is this a seasonal thing, where better weather brings more travelers? An economy thing that is going on all over the country? I'm hoping that it is a supply/demand thing that will soon bring more legit, quality girls to raise the average of a somewhat mediocre group to choose from.

Any ideas?
Probably many reasons...part fluke, duplicative ads, Thursday being a popular ad day, migration from craigslist, word getting out that this area is underserved, improving economy, general population growth, etc.
Its been said often about screening and I'll probably get flamed for this, but here goes . . .

If you travel enough, you'll see this same phenomanon in various markets. You're watching the evening news and see men and women paraded out of a hotel - it's a bust. The anchor and/or reporter is incredulous that "this type of activity" could happen in {fill in the name of the city}. The investigative reporter then talks about the illicit activity posted on the internet {now switch to visual of CL or BP on a computer screen}.

We've had this discussion before - increase of BL or CL activity?
1) economics - girls have lost their job and trying to make ends meet
2) inexperience - don't know about the traditional boards that have been in place
3) poor business habits - yes, boys and girls, this is a business, BUT they don't know how to screen; aren't aware of other colleagues in the hobby; just in search of a fuck for a buck
4) yes I know there are some respected providers who do screen that use BP or CL (I can feel the flames already) but I don't believe the market being underserved is one of the reasons

Now the next question . . . What are the results of the increased activity?
1) horn dawgs begin thinking with the little head rather than the big head
2) excitement about "flavors of the week"
3) increased LE attention and
4) eventually a bust, especially in an election year (if you haven't noticed from the advertising, this is an election year)

So the question becomes does the horn dawg become Don Quixote and rescue the damsels or ignore it? Education can be a good thing, so if you're going to visit there, 1) understand the consequences of the paragraph above; and 2) try to help the provider understand how to screen and play safe for everyone's benefit.

Under normal circumstances, in real life, I'm an "agent for change". While I'm not resisting change, one would have to admit there has been significant change in the Arkansas Hobby arena in the past two years and not for the better. Perhaps we should examine some of those changes for the worse (or dangerous) and fix them.... But I suppose that's another thread.
What concerns me is how many advertising on BP are also P411 and/or eccie.net providers? I spotted at least one NWA provider that was on my radar but now has fallen into the limp dick folder for the time being...

JMO.

I went through a bunch of them, & most are duplicates. I even found a few where it was the same provider, posting under different names & phone numbers (if you're gonna do that, keep the same phone number with the same alias!).
Balance the content of this thread with the latest thread on the Arkansas alerts sub-forum...
