Visiting Oct 31-Nov 3rd .. ISO Travel info

So i know it's a ways out. But I'll be in New York for Halloween and the few days after... Looking for as much info as I can get! Never been to New York so I need to know everything from Where to stay, where to eat, where to go shopping and sight seeing. The Statue of Liberty is on my list as well as Central Park and Times Square. But what else is there to do? I am definitely a foodie. I also enjoy shopping and sports. I'm actually flying in from Kansas City to Philadelphia on October 30th then plan on taking the train to New York from there. Trying to plan the best way around the city while I'm there then have a plan back to Philly after that. My plane leaves Philly Nov 6th to take me back to Kansas City. Any info is much appreciated and PMs are great as well! Thank you for taking the time to help me! Xoxo

Jess,

Enjoy your visit. Lots to see and Do in NYC but I've only visited a few times. Best bet do some online research and you can find good rates for great hotels in Manhattan and as for shopping, ALL OVER and food ... ANYTHING you want 24/7.

As long as the weather cooperates, put on your shoes and walk the High Line. It's an old elevated subway line along the west side of Manhattan that has been turned into a park for strolling. I've never seen anything quite like it: you walk along at first floor levwl and peer into peoples' windows while checking out some of the cooler recent architecture on offer.

Spend an afternoon in Chelsea (basically lile 23rd street over on the west side) walking into and out of art galleries. Pretend you're a billionaire and that you're looking for something for your yacht.
Find a gentleman caller who will take you for a meal at Beauty and Essex. See if he can get tickets to Sleep No More.
And then of course there are the after hours adventures.
Thank you so much!
I will be staying near Times Square and I'm getting really anxious and excited for my trip! This will be my first time in New York! I bought tickets to the Apollo in Harlem for Halloween Night.. Looking for shenanigans to get into after! Definitely have to check out Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, the Empire State building, the old World Trade Center site... I hope to visit all 5 boroughs before I leave! I'm excited to walk on the Brooklyn bridge as well! So much excitement building!! Hopefully New York is at least as half as excited to See me as I am to be there! I'm such a tourist I really love visiting new places and trying new things!
