The US Government is pressuring them to end escort listings just like they did craigslist. As of now, the village voice is not removing the ads, but they are making some changes they feel will protect them in case it becomes litigious.

Nor do I see anywhere that HTML or "graphic art clips" are mentioned in either the email or form -- can you provide more information, since a lot of ads use one of their "picture" entries for a graphic containing the disclaimer? For example, this ad contains what I would consider a graphic art clip -- perhaps we have different definitions?

My examples are just the first I ran across, I'm pretty sure there would be more.

The 500 word limit is apparently not all that new, and the issue with code words is that the list has been expanded to include some of the newer "workarounds" some have been using. I'm working on getting the full list, so we can come up with some new, non-obvious ones they don't know about.

But I agree, Eccie is the way to go, not least because we men and you women can share experiences to increase *everyone's* safety.
Lets pray they dont go after Eccie!

I wish they'd remove all the bullshit padding that some pimps use that defeats the search feature by putting every other escorts name, number and city in white font on white background.....

If you just follow the rules on Backpage everything will be fine.

So far they seem to not have much luck going after subscription based discussion forums. Not sure of the legal differences but discussion groups seem to be OK for now.

As if someone surfing for an escort at work isn't *already* breaking the rules for every company of which I am aware, save only single man operations.

The workaround I have come up with is to add a nonsense or random term in "invisible" text at the bottom of your main page, if you are one that advertises there, and then instead of the link. put "google <my name> <nonsense or random term> since BP has decided my site is too racy" -- just give Google a couple of days to index the new term before you start using it (try it yourself to test)

If none of this has made sense to you, PM and I can either talk you through it, or recently I'm just being given logins (which I promise I will forget -- I often have problems remembering *my* passwords LOL) and I'm just making the change to the pages myself.
I hope they don't go after Eccie, I just got here!
