Is eccie really worried about its competition? I don't think they need to be since they have become the top dog. They were pretty open about it all along, why the sudden change?

#7 I really do not understand at all. Reminds me of a now defunct site.

This is not a slam or anything against eccie. I put it in co-ed here in USNY so some discussion would occur. Anyone please feel free to share your thoughts.
Perhaps I'm too old-fashioned, but I think any signature longer than a couple of lines is a distraction.

I have a civilian friend whose email signature consists of a collection of all his favorite quotes that fills an entire screen. Yikes!

#6.5
The relationship and cooperation between boards is an interesting balance. If I remember correctly eccie originally said they hoped info would be shared. But my memory is notoriously poor.
It would be nice, but it's up to the owners.

I suspect the goal is to urge ladies to put up a showcase here. It might be nicer if the board allowed links is to a lady's ter or escort site. But that is my provincial view, Becky and TBone have I'm sure a larger vantage point.

#7.
It would be extremely helpful to show rates in sig lines for ladies without their own site. However the owners may feel it's a concern they don't want to assume if the server is hosted domestically.

Here's an interesting post on the topic: (if link doesn't work it's post #39)

The interesting conflict is in allowing rates posted in provider ads. It can be done, but having ads without rates or specials seems pretty awkward.

Anyway it's a sig LINE not PAGE

Addressing the specific issues of the thread, while I understand there might be legalistic reasons for any restrictions, I selfishly would appreciate seeing her contact information and rates in a provider's signature.
Here's the best way I can explain it:

6.5 - We do allow discussions of competing sites on ECCIE, but we have a designated thread in the main discussion area for it. No need to flood the site with that information when we can consolidate it in one place. We aren't concerned about competition and feel that cooperation is much better. I honestly can't think of any reason why you'd put a link to a competing website in your sig line anyway...I mean with us allowing people to copy over reviews, having a free showcase for the ladies and our kick ass modstaff

7 - Ladies are given free advertising on ECCIE. They can post 1 ad in the main provider ad forum and 1 ad in the weekend connection every week. We want to provide a level playing field for all providers and want to try and avoid using the sig lines as another venue for advertising.

At least that's my understanding...

Contact information, link to showcase, Link to other boards to something like a showcase. Link to other boards can be done with out giving the name to that board. Oh and link to website if she has one.

Rate or services in sig line. Na I don't like that. That can be found in ad's, website, showcase(no matter where), reviews(just have to check, is that current).
"Links to competing websites will be prohibited." this line I do not like. And would like to know why.

edit:I have to type faster. see LAP above.

I understand and can agree with all of that.

I just get worried when I start to see a place start implementing "rules". One rule always leads to another rule. It is a slippery slope. It always seems to end up with so many rules, that you are walking on eggshells because you never know what is and isn't allowed.
GP,

I understand buddy and believe me when I tell you that we don't want to implement any more rules than are absolutely needed...means more work for us.

Also note that Becky is one of the owners of the site (and a total sweetheart I'll add) and if she posted it, she had a very good reason for it.
