I'd bet that the pain will last a few weeks, but definitely not out to 2 months. It will be annoying, especially for visiting people this week, but I don't think it will kill the site.
I mean it seems like its a good faith effort to improve things which tends to eventually work out even with problems for a while. I just don't see them going down in flames like I've seen happen to some boards in other states.
But who knows? And for the visitor from the thread I think they fixed the big provider problems.

At least on ECCIE and TER, you get temporary viewing priviledges for posting a review.
