Lakeside lodging- or pretty close to it

I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction-

I'm wanting to take my son out for some fishing before the heat starts to kick in. Now, I'd love to find a cabin to rent- nothing fancy, just some place with a couple of cots, a toilet, shower, etc. I've been checking out different places but it seems most of them are either too luxurious (we don't really need turn-down service) or have 2-night minimums.

Any thoughts on some hidden locations, or should I just say screw it and buy a tent?

This site has a wide variety to choose from...http://www.texas-cabins.com/

Depending on if you are willing to drive to East Texas and want to pitch a tent, there are some good camp sites in the Texas National Forest http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/texas/recreation/index.shtml
There are some small cabins over on Lake Bastrop. I believe its a county park and their reasonably priced for the accommodations.

Depends what kind of fishing you want.
