Trump is all the Republicans have.. if he loses, there could easily be another long Democratic takeover, similar to the Roosevelt-Johnson years.

Obama was the best thing for Republicans in half a century or more. He went from having the Presidency, the Senate, the House, A majority of governorships, a majority of State Senates, a majority of State Houses, and a good foothold in local offices, to having lost all of that for the Dems by 2016.
We are seeing a slow swing back where Dems are taking back some seats, but nothing of the Scope of the shellacking of 2010 and continued elections through 2016.
As it currently is, Trump is shoring up a conservative/constitutional judicial system for a generation to come as well as based on the current nature of the state split(roughly 30 rep states to 20 dem states), the Senate won't go overwhelmingly dem in the near future either.
The dreams of a new FDR era died when Obama was elected.
As for the primaries for Trump. It's funny watching the left try and bitch at the right for how they are handling their primary, when we all saw what happened to Bernie.
Guess when it's the Republicans deciding how they are handling their primary system it's bad, but the Dems do whatever they want.
