Has anyone vacationed @ Marco Island Florida?

I am originally from Florida(Cocoa Beach) but never been to Marco Island. Has anyone been there? Do you recommend it? I am taking my daughter to Australia/New Zealand in September but am looking to take a week break before that. Any info appreciated! Heather

Closest that I have been is Naples, just north of it. Beautiful and upscale as long as the oil stays away.

I have my winter home in marco, and it is beautiful. Not sure how business is, but i dont have any complaints.

Its where the folks from Miami go to get away....Lots of old money around that place. Stay at the Marriot...great resort right on the beach. Its real quiet there at night, so you may venture to Naples when the sun goes down.

One thing for sure, stay on the island till sun goes down over the water...beautiful sight!
