Don't bother with international calling. All the girls in CR use an app called Whatsapp. download it on your smart phone then add whomever you want to your contacts. You have to include the country code preceded by a + for it to work. So for a Costa Rica # (8 digits) the contact # will be +506 xxxx xxxx. . That way you can text or call or send pictures from anywhere with a wifi connection. I used it while in CR and still keep in contact with my favorites from home. Luna sends me pics 2 or 3 times a week. It's totally free, like Skype.
