Eccie members that have served in the military

There are a few of us that are quite interested in which of you has actually done the work of serving your country in the military. I'm not interested in politics here. Just who's served. A huge Thankyou to anyone that has. Even if you're a progressive, I thank you.

I'll start.

US Coast Guard Late 90's-early 2000's

My brother died in this war under current leadership. US Army
"Even if you're a progressive," huh? If your true intent was to keep politics out of the equation, why in the hell would you make that idiotic statement? A simple did you serve should suffice. Go figure!

Thank you for your service and I am truly sorry to hear about your brother. May he rest in peace!

In any event, on to the non-political question. Yes I did! I served in the U. S. Army from 1969-1973. I spent one year in the 173rd Airborne Brigade and my final two years (and change) in the 82nd Airborne Division.

Airborne, there is nothing else quite like it!

28 yrs from Nam through Iraq #1.
Kayla, you've forgotten to take your meds lately. Go to the medicine cabinet, pull the meds, get some water, put the pills in your mouth, and swallow with water. Your jokes might get funny afterwards.

Oh shit you're right. I completely forgot to take the anti bullshit pill and the red pill. I must still be in the matrix.

And bless your heart cum, you didn't serve. All you have to contribute is insults. Aww
US Army - late 80s to late 90s. Started as an enlisted logistics soldier, later became an NCO. I eventually was commissioned and left as an O-3.
LOL! Don't take the red pill, it's bad for you, but you should also stop taking the blue pill, it's equally as bad. And you're right, I did not serve, but I still thank you for your service.
Drafted into Army. Vietnam Vet.

Please leave any meds at home. They're only used when around the family and at work.

I take my crazy girl straight with sleep deprivation on the side. Garnish with a Mae West and eat it on the ground the second you land.

Though I did not blame Bush, it is the system we have. Do you blame Obama for your brothers loss?

Now what is the point of your thread?

Do former military people actually need a pat on the back?

What would you think if I started a thread that asked who has paid taxes of 100k or more a year that pays the salary of our military? Would you think that a bit self serving?

Who is this ''few of us'' btw? Why do you care? Do you think it matters? If so, where has Mitt Romney served? In the south of France selling religion during the Vietnam war? Does that count? Is that why you are voting for him?

I can always count on you for crazy, wdf

I find it incredibly fascinating those that have served are all democrats. That's something to think about. Maybe you all really are right.
