...I'm in Las Colinas Friday. I've already chosen the clubs (Dallas clubs are always a necessity when I visit). What I'd like to know from anyone here who is wiling to help is where I can find the real hole-in-the-wall, pay-in-cash only, authentic mexican food places. Yelp seems to always steers me to the blue tortilla, trendy millennial hangout places.

Any help out there?

Watching Man's Greatest Food.

This is the $10 Surf N Turf burrito at JV's Mexican Restaurant in San Diego, California.

It's over a dozen medium tiger shrimps, 2 lbs of beef carne asada, 1/2 a lbs of rice, plus quacamole, wrapped in 2 giant tortillas, deep fried and then served with enchilada red chili sauce and shredded cheese on top.

You'll never find tacos or burritos like the West coast in TX, I make better food at home than found at places here.

Here in Texas they like the crap that Taco Bell and Taco Cabana serves.

Tin Star Taco in Stonebriar mall food court with a 2.5 rating on YELP and 2.6 rating on Google?

According to YELP, their Galleria location at Alpha and DNT is closed (last review on Yelp was 10/27/2017 and last review on Google was August 2018).

So are their locations on Cedar Springs and in Plano at West Park and DNT, both closed.

Their website tinstartacobar dot com is not working and for sale on GoDaddy.

Not good!

Sounds like they don’t even think very highly of themselves.

The could have been silver star or even gold star but they only aspire to be tin star.
