The SC unanimously ruled that police can not search your cellphone w/o 1st obtaining a warrant.

Well, they got one right! Good for SCOTUS!No victory lap yet. Need to read the "fine print" ... already saw "safety" exception apparently written into the opinion, but that is SOP with searches.

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."
If there isn't probable cause, you can't get a warrant. If there is, then you can get a warrant. That isn't a loophole, that is a protection. Originally Posted by ExNYer
