Hmm.. so the Sociologists and TV Preachers got it wrong.. Metal fans are more "well-adjusted" than others.. which makes sense to me, especially regarding 80's metal.. the country "tear in my beer" fans and tortured singer-songwriter (Paul Simon, Cat Stevens, James Taylor) lovers were always suspect to me
Heavy metal has always calmed me and the more aggressive it is the calmer it seems to make me. A month away from 40 and my daily 45 minute commute starts around 5:30ish and consists of coffee and metal. I run 70-75 and don't road rage. Nothing makes my morning better than hearing Lamb of God, Slayer, All That Remains, A7X, Pantera etc. I enjoy all types of music but metal is by far my favorite.
Just like more violent video games, less real world violence. If you have an outlet then it doesn't escalate. </common sense>
