help - problem linking to image for custom avitar

The option to upload a custom avitar is not available to me, but the option to link to an image is. I have a 125x90 3.7kB jpeg image on image shack. When I hit save changes eccie gives me an invalid image error. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks
