His name is Lucian Truscott. he was a tough as nails 3 star general who ran the Italian campaign until end of war. In some sense, he was comparable to General Patton.

He had his quirks.

at end of war, with the opening of a new military cemetery in Nettuno, Italy, he did something unusual. He gave a speech not in front of the VIPs, but in front of the dead soldiers he commanded.

they should make a movie about him.
