Pronunciation of "ECCIE"

Ok, I have tried looking backward to see if this has been asked before, but haven't found it. In conversations with several ladies this year, I have noticed that there are several ways to pronounce the name of this site. A lot of the time there is a pause right before the attempt. Maybe the "big dogs" here can provide some enlightenment.

ECCIE is pronounced:

EXXIE
EKKIE
IKKIE
ESSIE
EASY
EACY
???

No one seems to want to say the letters. E-C-C-I-E

I always thought it was EK-SIE

I have always pronounced it EKKIE; maybe its a regional dialect thing?

Like EW said--it rhymes with BECKY.

That's very interesting. I took a cue from the Italians, and always pronounced it "echee"... in Italy, the letters "cc" followed by an "i" or an "e" produce the English "ch" sound.
