Obama authorizes secret U.S. support for Syrian rebels

Really? How secret is it? I guess not so secret now.

SARCASM ALERT!

Sure, we have plenty of money, let's go ahead and destabilize another government. Then maybe we can get involved in a war, and replenish what the defense industry lost when Iraq wouldn't let us stay there.

END OF SARCASM

REBEL fighters in Syria appear to have carried out a massacre in which they lined up several unarmed men against a wall and shot them dead.

That word you keep using (secret), I'm not sure you know what it means.

Inconcievable!
Damn COG you let the cat out.Now every one knows. Are you the source of the white house leaks??
Yeah, another war we have no business getting into. Except in this one, we have the opportunity to cross swords with Russia. I see win/win all over this one.

What does "Support" mean anyway? Limited, half-decision support where we can get sideways with Putin over a cobbled up mandate so someone can be seen doing something or real support that would really tangle us up with Putin.

Doove, you're on.
Granted, getting rid of that 'Thugocracy" in Syria is a pretty desireble goal, Assad is a dispicable tyrant who takes his cues right out of Joe Stalins playbook.

What will emerge in return will be some type of Muslim theocracy, because that is what is there. Our best hope is that Syria doesn't turn into another Iran.

It will be interesting to see how Russia acts as Assad falls. They have quite a bit to loose, as they have been a close Ally to Syria for decades.

I don't think they will mind losing their Syrian naval base. Its only money. Prestige...power... face...reputation...world standing...strategy...whatever .
