Temporarily Without Phone

Yep, I'm not always the most graceful, lol, I dropped my hobby phone into my commode last night. I had just cleaned it, the toilet, so at least that's a positive way to look at it, lol. So, with that said, if you need to reach me please send a PM or email until I can get a new phone, which should be today or tomorrow, hopefully. :-)
Oh no! Did you take it apart immediately to dry it out? I've heard that doing that can help save the phone (sometimes ), and putting it in a bowl covered in dry rice will help absorb the water.
Put it in a bag of rice to dry it out.

There's a joke there but I won't say it just in case...

Sorry to hear of your situation. It happened to me -- slipped out of shirt pocket when I turned around and bent over to flush. More common than most people realize.

The info above is accurate. Remove battery, if possible to do so. This minimizes electrical short circuit and gives internal circuits a way to get air and dry out. Do not try to turn it on for at least 48 hours to allow it to completely dry out. The bag of rice is a good idea, as that absorbs moisture.

I hope you are able to get it going again.

Done that many times. Always just got a new one. I finally got smart and bought a lifeproof case saving me hundreds of dollars : )
Thanks guys! Took it apart immediately, dried it and put in a bowl of rice, no go so far. I think I'm just going to have to buy another one. Thanks so much for the tips though!

Why does no one say the obvious, put it in microwave immediately, quick dry
It might boost the signal strength too! Lol

Well, it kinda kills signal, along with the rest of the phone, but it will be DRY

+++ on the life proof case. I have had several spills and a short washing machine experience (got it out almost imediatley - 5 minutes). It's expensive, but it also takes falls from 6 meters onto concrete. The only downside is that it probably won't fit if you get a new phone. Found one for $80. Probably saved me two replacements and the hassles included. FYI - I use a Samsung 6. Easy to fit and works great on touch - even fingerprint recognition. Does make the phone a bit bigger, but has not been a problem for me.
I hope you got your phone fixed or a new one the rice thing works most of the time but keep it in rice 24 hrs and remove all chips and batterys. SORRY
THAT SUCKS WHEN YOU have no phone
If you have the new galaxy edge 6 with no battery ugh just to hard rest you have to push volume down button off key and middle button all at the same time
No battery to pop out...UGH
THAT WAS THE WW
ORST PHONE MISTAKE I MADE EVER UGH
Thanks Majichands! I ended up getting a new phone/number, it does suck a bit but c'est la vie! Have to keep on keeping on. ;-)
Awesome41, I'll definitely have to check out the lifeproof case, that would come in handy for my regular phone lol.
Good news that got a new phone. I recent dropped mine on a tile floor and shattered the glass, a first for me. The cost to replace the glass was almost as much as the phone itself.
Oh, I bet! My other phone has had a cracked screen for months now, lol.
