We mark the passing of George McGovern at 90.
This is not meant to be a partisan post. Not too many politicians have real beliefs. Most are opportunists. Some are even shameless flip-floppers.
McGovern was always true to his convictions and did not pander to the electorate. So was Barry Goldwater.
A Footnote: McGovern won only one state (Massachusetts) in the 1972 presidential election. Watergate was totally unnecessary.
