Over sensationalized news intended to instill fear. It's just meta data that all cameras store in pictures. Most sites strip the data when you upload. Craigslist, Back Page, Eccie and online img storage sites strip all of that data out. Facebook and Twitter use the geo data for photo maps and checkins.
