Looking for a fun stop between Memphis and KC!

Hi guys and gals, I am planning another visit to KC and I am trying to figure out the best city to stop along the way.

I would say Springfield, Mo. if I were there. Sadly I'm in Florida. Now I need to put Memphis as a stop on the way to Springfield.
