COVID VACCINE AT A SNAILS PACE

Can't blame Trump for this one.

The medical community had 9 freaking months to plan this and are spinning their wheels. WTF are they doing!!!??? Why no outrage??

There should be numerous vaccine stations being set up and ready to go at every major city. Hear of any in Pittsburgh? What a joke.
Why would people be outraged about not getting a vaccine for a virus which has been slandered as fake? /s

On a serious note, I do believe I've read about some doctors and nurses at local hospitals getting it first. Honestly, they should be first, followed by the ultra high risk people, and every joe shmoe like us should get it last.

Are you familiar with the phased rollout plans?

I'll fault them for all kinds of things, but I can stomach the phased rollout given that it prioritizes the groups that I would prioritize.

Could things be handled better? Absolutely. We will always want it better, faster and more efficient and when lives are on the line it should be.

You don't get to toss the "know someone who died card" in my face. You aren't the only one with one.

1A is underway. 1B later this week and it will go on from there.

Do I want it faster? Sure. Do I want it for others more than myself? Absolutely. But when he starts asking where the vaccination stations are... get fucking real. They're nowhere near even having the volume to justify that given what's actually come out of the pipeline at this point where those would even be viable.

Yeah, they could be doing better. They need to do better. But 20 million doses of a 2 shot vaccine only covers 10 million people.

They bet on a lot of horses with varying requirements. Those variables do actually matter when you decide to play blame game.

No - Operation Warp Speed is responsible for all logistics from the manufacturer to getting it to where each state wants it to go.

It is the individual states that are responsible from there. You know a few days before the first vaccine was shipped which were the only 2 states / territories not to have a plan in place released? Puerto Rico and Pennsylvania thanks to Bozo Wolf and Cousin It

99% of the rest of the plan would be the same no matter what vaccine was released.

I can tell you in PA the state has sucked with their plan ad guidance. UPMC is doing a much better job of getting it in use than AHN - basically because UPMC said we are just going to do what we do. They have gotten it out rapidly to their health care workers.

At this point, UPMC has not had enough supply to start on the next phase of the rollout (besides their health care workers) but I believe that should be occurring soon.

Other states have different plans and priorities. Florida has prioritized all senior citizens which makes sense since that is where the highest death rate is from the virus

The blame goes squarely on the medical community. At a 5 million per
Month pace it will take years, not months to develop the herd immunity everyone is looking for.
