I would say that sand and anal lube don't mix well.

Back in the military that seemed to be a favorite.

If you fucked up and had to go see the commander my supervisor would give a small jar of petroleum jelly.

You knew you were really in trouble when he handed you the one with sand mixed in.

To my knowledge astro glide is water-based and will not adversely affect latex condoms.

Petroleum jelly or oil based lubricants will cause latex condoms to weaken and possibly tear.

So as MPK and DD have said, the provider's own spit should work well also, but I think it dries out to quickly.
