Chiefs

Well it's off season and time to make moves..

They said today Former Oakland CB Stanford Routt reached agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs. I think they said it was for 3 years.... That means B. Carr is going someplace else and more than likely Bowe will be franchised... Carr isn't a bad CB but I think everyone knew he wasnt going to be here much longer and I know Routt better be careful and not get as many flags here as he did in Oakland..... Oh How I miss football season.. Is it Aug yet???

They got Routt for a whole lot less $$ than Carr would have cost, and without a significant drop in talent level, if any at all. Probably a smart move, if they use that money to make improvements somewhere other than their bottom line. Its hard to trust the Chiefs to do anything more than field a "competitve" average team for the least amount of money they can get by with.

Don't know about not having a drop in talent level. Check the statistics for pass interference and holding penalties last year. You won't be happy, but somebody has to be # 1.
Yea, Carr is the better corner, no doubt. But if they use the savings wisely to improve the team at other positions, it could still end up being positive overall, and maybe Routt will fit in well enough with Flowers and Berry. Got to think Romeo will get the most out of him and create a good defensive team with the talent he has, especially if they improve the D-line and can pressure the QB.
If signing Routt is anything beyond adding depth, OK.

If his signing is supposed to replace Carr...typical BS move on chiefs.

They have PLENTY of cap room to sign both Carr and Bowe...plus a couple of key free agents (nothing wild, like Redskins)

If KC fans "buy" into this, then their cheap ass owner has won. Did anybody read Star's Sunday article on chiefs salary cap situation????

Carr's interview on ESPN showed no particular loyalty to chiefs...he just wants to go where the money is. Chiefs have plenty of money

BTW...just took a look at Routt's dollars, after above post. That does not appear to be back up money. Lot's of Radier fans happy about this move.

And the fans will continue to sell out A-head. Unbelievable

Carr doesnt want to really be here.. He told a friend of mine a few days ago he was pretty much done with KC... If a player doesnt want to be here he won't play as good as he usually does....
The signed Routt for $20M because they don't intend to sign Carr for $50M. Routt is Carr's replacement, you can take that to the bank. If they use the money they saved to upgrade at other positions, and we all know they have a bunch of holes that need to be filled, then it could end up being worth it imho. If they use the savings to boost the Hunt's bank account, then fans should feel screwed again.

Don't see this as a backup move. He's making almost as much as our QB. Unfortunately anymore you need more than two corners that can cover.
