We Need More Regulation Not Less !

Trump says that his biggest accomplishment is stripping away regulations. Sounds like a good thing using those words but what if he said he was stripping away all consumer protections, that wouldn’t sound so great. It will certainly lead to financial scandals and catastrophic environmental events, higher fees for services and bailouts that will put us further in debt and eventual ruin of our economy. What will be gained? Short term stock market increases and corporate profits, a better economy until it collapses from the weight of corrupt business practices. We have seen it happen before under republican rule and here we go again. Last time we were lucky to have President Obama to right things and save us from a Great Depression. We may not be so lucky this time! Think before you vote next time!

Should we regulate industry or let them dump waste anywhere and we the taxpayers pay for their misdeeds?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfund

Approximately 70% of Superfund cleanup activities historically have been paid for by parties responsible (PRPs) for the cleanup of contamination. The exceptions occur when the responsible party either cannot be found or is unable to pay for the cleanup. Until the mid-1990s, most of the funding came from a tax on the petroleum and chemical industries, reflecting the polluter pays principle, but since 2001, most of the funding for cleanups of hazardous waste sites has come from taxpayers
