Andy Russell has passed.

What a solid individual. One of the few players that played with the horrible 60’s Steelers and played on the first two Superbowls. A consummate pro. 8 time pro bowler and 10yr captain of the Steelers. There hasn’t been a better trio of linebackers in the history of the NFL than Russell, Ham and Lambert.

He was very involved in Pittsburgh. He raised money thru his Charity golf tournament. I played in it at Chartiers CC and met him. A man’s man. RIP

I agree. When Noll took over he said most of you weren’t be here in a year. I think Russell and Mansfield were the only ones who made it into the 70’s.
