Ashley Madison Paranoia

Since so many members have asked to disable their accounts and others are asking about it:

1) Personal info is never provided to ECCIE so ECCIE has no info that can be used against members;

2) Credit cards are billed through a third party, CC Bill, and ECCIE is never given that information;

3) The only connection to the real world would be if you were stupid enough to use your real email address, an email address used for other personal stuff, or a name/handle that you use on other public sites and others in the real world would know you by;

4) I've been told that old email addresses and names that have been changed are deleted from the system at the time of the change so they no longer exist.

So, if you've been a victim of AM and/or have a snooping spouse/SO that knows all your "private" email accounts and usernames that's one thing. If you're worried about the slim chance that ECCIE gets hacked, there is no personal information here that can be used or connected to members. If you're worried about a username or email address that could tie you to other sites then change your email and ask for a name change. Otherwise you're just being overly paranoid for no reason.
I have 2 guy friends, one married, the other a gf, who both showed up on that list. BOTH had a credit card number stolen online at the same time they were signed up, and both contacted the cc companies to cancel the card. Thank goodness they kept all the paperwork to prove it was not them. Neither are a hobbyist and I dont think either would cheat. So for those who read the lists do so with caution, its not at all accurate. I wonder if the same guys who hacked cc info also hacked the site. Its just insane and sad that innocent people are being affected.
IP addresses?

They have a bunch of people still awaiting deletion of their accounts in Questions for the Staff. I would imagine deleting their profiles would help those who are already catching hell on AM.

Only one is still active because he has not replied to my PM and provided a reason as required by the administrators.
I don't think activity is important. These poor bastards still have their usernames active on here. If they used an email address with the username, that will be awfully easy to find, likely making matters worse for these saps. I'd guest account them all in order to clear the usernames. Just my opinion.

Best bet is to change your email and have a mod change the me to something unrecognizable.
