Help fund a sex worker rights billboard!

http://www.feminisnt.com/2011/fund-a...hts-billboard/

SWAAY has just kicked off a campaign to put up a billboard in Los Angeles for one month...Why LA? Because for better or worse, as we've learned from Ashton Kutcher's dangerous bumblings, LA is filled with people that influence the nation, so I want to try and influence them. But, even if no one "important" ends up mentioning the campaign or helping it create buzz, there are still countless members of the general public that are going to see the billboard. (If this is successful, I'd love to run this billboard in other cities. Next on the list would probably be New York City, Washington DC, and Chicago)...
All right, guys, if you really care about providers here's a chance to prove it. And girls, nobody will help us if we don't help ourselves first. Furry Girl's SWAAY organization is asking for donations to put up a billboard for sex worker rights; the suggested donation is only $7. If everyone on this site right now gave only $1, she'd be over halfway there!

It's time to demand an end to the criminalization of our ancient and venerable profession.
Well, maybe I shouldn't have posted that so quick. It either won't let me donate, or I donated several times. LOL It doesn't advance past the credit card screen.

I donated anonymously. It says on their you can donate anonymously, just use a false email address. Listen these ladies are trying to push forward a movement, and it is taking some serious steps to do so. I would not be worried about the credit card issue, (they say they will not charge the cards if they don't reach their quota in the alloted time frame) you can opt not to have your information displayed on facebook either. We can't ever enlighten and educate people and make changes to old outdated puritanical laws if we don't all start putting forth an effort to make things happen. This is a fantastic first step. I think it will make some headlines, and open up media discussions about real sex work and the people in it.

I hope more people consider donating and supporting the cause.

I see way too many women and men complaining on these boards about being afraid of getting "arrested" and "why don't the police go after real criminals", but no real effort on anyone's part to actually help make changes. This is an opportunity to change that. Once that billboard goes up I guarantee you the news media will be all over it. That opens it up for these ladies on Swaay.org to have some real dialogue with the media and start educating the public and push to change the laws. I hope like hell they are able to get it up, and maybe even gain more support from the public who is in favor of changing the laws. I would love to see these billboards all over the country. I personally am tired of having our rights trampled on.

???
I think Ashton & Demi are against under age prostitution and the child sex slavery problems in the world. The exploitation of children is a horrible thing has nothing to do with most of us here.

Thank you for posting this link Angel, I donated to the cause today!
Providers- Get your donations in asap before time runs out if we dont do it who will?

I hope more people will donate for this billboard.

We can never have an open, honest, constructive dialogue about sex work if people are too afraid to speak out about it. I understand the fears, fear of exposure, but we should not allow people to shame anyone for talking about the issues and providing education on it.
Bumping for the campaign cause..
