The "unscribed plate" or "blank slate" ... in this case ... not knowing anything about a person, outside of the hobby. For example, do I want to know that a provider is talking about having children with her SO? Do I want to know that a provider has an SO, at all?

I'm thinking, just me, that I'm really not interested in knowing someone's real name or about their lives. In some cases, I do know .. and it's not a big deal. But generally, I think I would rather just deal with hobby side of things. Just sayin'.

If the provider is preggo, I want to know that she has a SO and not a hobby baby.

Otherwise, I'm afraid I'd be lookin' over my shoulder if I knew there was a bf in the picture.

As far as knowing the real names, as long as she answers to her hobby handle, I don't really care if that's what her mama named her.

Face it: Frequently, a stripper or escort by herself will have more problems than everyone else you know combined, and, just about as frequently, she won't mind sharing them with you at all, thank you very much.

Sometimes, the real name comes out because she's careless. Sometimes, it's because she doesn't really care if any and everyone knows. But some other times, it's because she trusts you.

I don't mind being let into a provider's life, but, if she's going to tell me how screwed up her life is, I need to be able to reciprocate.
