Or.. dude is pushing 80 and decided he wanted to enjoy some things in life before his ashes return to ashes. There are quite a few geezers that should follow his lead and make room for new blood. As for a 'real' Conservative our definition of that would likely not align very well at all so I will leave that one alone..

You are onto something but the term pre-dates Trump by a good long while. For a term used so fervently I would think those who use it could easily form a quick explanation of it but as we see here they usually just continue to point fingers.

I’m sure you’re right - in a general election. Utah is not likely to elect a Democratic Senator. I am not in touch with Utah politics enough to know though, was there going to be a primary challenger had Romney run? That might be a different story.
