There are a shitload of US citizens - and registered voters - whose primary language is Spanish.

The State of Texas official documents are written in both languages. A portion of Houston’s street signs are in two languages — and Spanish isn’t one of them. In Maine, you’ll find a large French speaking population.

Since there is such a high percentage of Spanish speaking citizens here it only makes sense for candidates try to and reach them through language. Cruz should speak it better since half of his family does. Beto is more in touch with us Texans.

Actually Beto has a clean record and Cruz has a under age drinking on his. But both guys were young at the time. At least is was not rape and youth seems to excuse the GOP guys so I do not see a valid point about Beto anyway.
