I have no idea about showcase pics, but for the rest of the forums:
You have to host the image somewhere first. Go somewhere like https://imgur.com/ and upload the photo there. Then copy the link and paste it here.
Put it inside tags like this if you want the image to display in the post (except without that extra space that "breaks" the tag so you can see what I wrote):
[IMG]http://imgur.com/image.jpg[/IMG ]
