Personally, what he did was in bad taste. It's pretty obvious this person was in distress and/or acting desperate.
Feeding on that, for the laughs, is fairly despicable and certainly doesn't make the OP look like a nice person.
There is a RTM button that can be used for problem posts when you see them. A RTM will always get a mod's attention.

If not, there is no violation of Guideline # 9.
If yes; as stated above, the post should be Reported to the Moderator (RTM) and then the issue will be addressed per the Eccie Guidelines.
