Imitation Is The Greatest Form Of Flattery...I Guess

With more than 7 years as a Dallas provider under my belt, I think it is safe to say I am a veteran. During those years, I spent a great deal of time, money and effort improving my advertising and web presence. I think I have come up with great unique ways to showcase myself and I am quite proud of them.

Now I am seeing other girls using my ideas. I know it is not a big deal and it is their right to do it. I also know that someone has done everything I have before me. I know its silly but l I find it a little irritating. Why can't they think of their own ways to stand out, rather than copying me?

I guess I will just be flattered by the imitation and let it go...after I post this thread.

I wish everyone (including copycats) all the best. Much love!!

"I see other girls using my ideas"

Out of curiosity I have to ask....what are these said "ideas"?

I'll bet someone else has said the same thing. This day and age it's really hard to be unique or original.

Willa Cather once wrote that there are only 3 original stories in the world to write about and that all stories stem from those three. The only kicker is that she doesn't share what three stories are the original ones. So we have to guess.

However, I don't like to be plagiarized or copied and I see it all of the time. I know that I seek out unique, and often archaic, words to use on ads and in my writings just to perk up interest.

Then, I'll see my phrases and wording used in other ads. It happens. Just brush it off.

If someone plagiarizes copy from your website text, I'd send them a note and tell them to change it.

Sometimes, I really miss the site idonthaveabraininmyhead.com It used to be where we could post websites that copied, often word for word, other escort sites that feature wonderful text.

To imitate, to an extent, can be flattering. However, I would prefer others to find their own "voice" and marketing strategy. It's a more honest, authentic if you will, stance to take.

But like the guy wrote above me. What is really unique?

If someone is overtly copying you in ads, etc., call them out.

I think offering sex for money has been done before.

Morgan, you are beautiful. What stands out are your pictures and posts. Those are definitely unique and what attracts clients. The advertising methods are just background noise. If the lady is what a guy likes, it doesn't matter how many others are using the same theme, he will contact the one he is most attracted to.

Now out of curiosity, please be specific so we'll know what prompted this thread.

Peace and Love.

I went through this just a few weeks ago. Your title says it all. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. My issue was that the "provider" that used an idea of mine did not have the best reputation and I was worried that others would associate myself with her. However I found that most people knew that it was not her original idea. I wouldn't worry about it. People who matter will know it came from you first.

This is laughable, first off, unless you trademark or copyright something, it's free game and wait what am I talking about, this is an illicit profession and lifestyle so if a provider wants to copy you, I would think you should be flattered that your original idea is being imitated and others lack the foresight as you do.

Also Ms a Price your reasoning that someone would associate another persons marketing and their reputation with yours is downright laughable as well.

Tell us because I saw the thread you made about someone copying your style, who is or who are the providers that copied your style?

I have seen all kind of marketing, buy one get 1 free which I might add eventually sometimes is hard to collect on. Shot the longest or last the longest etc, it has all been done someway and somehow. I would worry more about your service and reputation than marketing as the adage goes if it is good service or pussy, they will come no matter the marketing employed

I am not going to say which provider I am referring to. I am sure she knows exactly what I am talking about. I do understand that part of business is taking other peoples ideas and putting ones own spin to it.

When I first started as a provider, I looked at Victoria Lane's site and decided that she was the type of provider I wanted to become. I wanted to capture the worldliness and class that she exuded, but I wanted to do it in my own way.

I know there are no firsts and nothing I do has never been done before.

The thing is this chick totally bit my style. I happened to click on an ad and it practically mirrored mine. This girl has been around for a while and it was only recently that she decided to do so many of the things I do as far as ad layouts and even her avatar.

I realize it is totally silly to be irritated by something so petty and over the course of the day, my concerns about this have dwindled to almost non-existence. You guys are right, ad layouts and avatars are not nearly as important as looks and skill. As long as we keep putting thought and effort into finding new and different ways to promote ourselves and attract quality clients, we will stay ahead of the pack.

Still I am a little immature so I will say sorry honey, you can try, but you will never be me. I know it hurts.

I was glad to hear a few girls have had similar experiences and could understand where I was coming from. Call us trendsetters!

Say whattttttt .... I don't even know which provider you are talking about, isn't that why I asked you to name them or her. Holy shit, how you take my statement and assume I know whom you are taking about is .... Well you fill in the missing word that escapes me.

If either of you won't name names then stop crying fool because it's starting to sound like you guys are looking for attention or another marketing gimmick.
PM sent...

Not arguing with you.

You came off like you were but thanks for the pm.
I think in the future you should consider posting any provider that copies your marketing info so that we are a better informed community.
Enjoy your evening.
