....we lost Elly Mae Clampett aka Donna Douglas this week. This Louisiana born beauty queen appeared in movies with Elvis Presley and TV shows like the Twilight Zone (Eye of the Beholder). The show ran for nine years.
the Grand Ole Opry lost Little Jimmy Dickens. This 4'11" singer, songwriter was the oldest member of the Grand Ole Opry before his death. He is best known for one of his novelty songs, "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pzk4l2NYx_Y
and Mario Cuomo, the father of the homeless also died. It was during the regime of Mario the Pious that state filed a lawsuit against the detention of the mentally incompetent in New York state. After winning the lawsuit many states followed suit and released their indigent population onto the street to fend for themselves.
