Dating Sites

Has anyone tried or been on any Dating websites. Im not looking for hobby info just a way to meet women to date. Curious about sucess and failure rates.

I know a few that are married from Match, but I know even more who said they are all shit and you're lucky to find a normal person. I do think you would have a better outcome with e harmony or match vs plenty of fish or whatever the others are. Friends have said they are much different

I hate...HATE eharmony. I've tried eharmony twice and each time they match me up with people that haven't been active on that site in over 3 weeks. I spent my money to be matched with someone who isn't active on the site anymore? F that.

I've tried dating sites several times in that past (match, eharmony, plenty of fish) and I have very jaded experiences. For the most part, a lot of the women are....not sure if unrealistic is the proper word...in what they want. Example, she wants no one under 6ft. How tall is she? 5'2. What's the typical size heel that women wear, 4 inches? So even in 4 inch heels she's standing at 5'6...I'm 5'9 but because I'm not 6ft, I'm a no go. She wants someone with a body type of "athletic and toned". What's her body type? "About average". Check her photos.....yeah, you're riding that line of average. She wants someone that doesn't make less that $75k a year. How much does she make? Not listed. What's her occupation say? Waitress or the one that I LOVE the most "college student". College student isn't an occupation in fact I don't know anyone that's getting paid to go to college.

Though....I have wondered if my feelings are unwarranted. When I'm looking for a provider I want someone upscale, slender or athletic, very easy on the eyes, etc etc. Is that really any different from what civie women are looking for in civie guys?

Try OKCupid....it's a free site but a step up from Plentyoffish and the same ppl on match are on the site.

I've had the best luck on Craigslist (I hate to admit it) - you just have to weed out the weirdos. It's more spur of the moment and you'll find many professionals who go on there because they don't have the time for setting up a real profile and going through the hassle of responding to each request. A person like that just may find themselves home alone on a Saturday night and anything us possible

to me all the site are full of bots. send emails and get auto replies or the same message for different site but words the same. just like those porn site all taped.

Every girl I've talked to or met off POF or Cupid just ended up wanting sex. Which is great and all, but I went there trying to find a girl who wanted a relationship. Oh well! I don't keep on their regularly, but I still get a few replies. I just don't expect much from it anymore.

On PoF, I met a stalker who still tries to disrupt my life over a year later, I hooked up with many women and dated one who eventually (about 6 months later) moved on to a larger paycheck. I was on Match before and the quality of women seemed much higher but they also seemed more superficial. I have custody of two kids and that was generally a great complement followed by not really interested.

I actually like to travel so moved on to ThaiFriendly and ThaiLoveLinks. I've been to Thailand 4 times over the last year and have seen the same woman from the first visit. I'm returning in about a month and may decide to sponsor her to come here. She's by far the best match I've found except for the extreme distance.

I've been on POF, Eharmony and Match. Do they work? Well I guess it depends on what you are looking for really.

On POF, the stories I heard from the guys was that all the girls want just sex or other horrible stories filled with drama. A few years ago, I was on it for the hook ups. But lately, when I have tried to find a guy that wanted a relationship, it was near impossible. Other free sites like this are OK Cupid, Date-HookUp and Zoosk.

EHarmony was ok. I was on there a year and met only a couple of ppl. I ended up dating a guy for about 6months.

Match.com - I haven’t been on long, but it doesn't seem to be any better than the other sites. I'm thinking I may be ready to try the bar scene for a change.

You know I'm sure I would find a really amazing girl at church but my fear is she would be too bible thumping....or I guess the PC word would be orthodox.

Church? Bad idea. The odds of you meeting someone pretending to be 'churchly' are far greater than you meeting a 'churchly' person. Call me crazy but if I'm going to fall in love with the alcoholic ladies man, I'd rather know it upfront than be shocked later.

Being single sucks! Ugh...the one that really gets me is the 2 for $20 at Chiles. I don't even have the 2nd person to fully take advantage of the offer. I don't even like Chiles but that '2 for 20' has now become a reminder - WHY ME?

When I can't stand it, I think of life on the other end of the spectrum - trapped in a marriage I didn't want to be in. Every day was like Groundhog's Day. I knew what was going to happen - that's worse. Tonight is Thursday...I'll be home in my pjs reading BUT tomorrow is Friday and anything can happen. There is some excitement in that, believe me. When I really miss having someone and begin to tear up, I have to remind myself of this:

I'm SINGLE - if I wanted to, I could go out and have drunken passionless sex with 2, 8 or 900 men. FREEDOM. HOPE. FUTURE. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

You know how you're going to meet someone? Being yourself. For instance, I love sports - when a big game is on, I'll go to a sportsbar alone. MissPriss and 400 men (2 even single!) If I feel like eating at a restaurant, I go ... alone. Usually there is single men and I've been asked out and had meals paid for. Whatever I like to do, I do. Eventually something will happen. In 6 months I could be married or under a protective order - there's excitement in that...albeit pathetic, at least it's open ended.

I hate to admit this next part but I will - the Hobby has an upside for single people. Men can spend time with women and move right past formality into f&ck

The best thing the hobby has done, made me aware of my own sexuality. In that there's confidence. A year ago, I'd never eat alone at a restaurant. Why? Because women who are with men stare...as if a lady eating alone is a freak. That used to kill me.

Now? I'll stare her right back in the eye until she stops staring. I think to myself...THE IDIOT IS MOST LIKELY YOU - MEN EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE SITTING ACROSS FROM YOU PAY FOR AN HOUR WITH ME! Yay

My biological clock is ticking. At least for the men, they have time. As one guy suggested, join a Thai dating site - you can go find a wife. If you want an American, keep me in mind. If I'm still available in 6 months, I'll marry you. Even if we have nothing in common, so what? It can work, you can change
