Who ever you use, be clear on the details before.
Are you paying or trading?
Do you expect blurring or any touch ups or cropping?
Do you want a CD or memory card or just access to them online to hotlink?
etc etc..
discuss those up front and all should go well!!

in my experience: Have the shoot before the session, but he'll give you the "goods" during your session together.

Some will dodge and burn to give effects, highlights and shadows in Photoshop...
