I have been in Monroe for awhile now and new to the hobby. I am looking for my
first “encounter” but not sure where to start, have been pursuing skip the games
but 90% of those ads look like scams. Is there anywhere that you can go to meet
these ladies or is it just a roll of the dice and hope you get a couple of contacts before you get busted?

Just like when Backpage was still around, highly regarded verified ladies will also use sites like that in addition to OH2, P411, etc.
When you see a companion that catches your eye, copy and paste her email and phone number into a search engine. Move accordingly depending on what you do or don't find. As an example, when I search my own email, my Twitter account, Private Delights account, personal website, ECCIE, OH2, and Switter accounts all come up on page 1 of Google.
If a companion does not have a website or presence on other more reputable sites like here, OH2, etc it doesn't necessarily mean you should not see them but it does mean you're taking more of risk in doing so.
