ISO: Lightweight (3-season) Backpacking Tent

ElisabethWhispers's Avatar
Hey!

I'm looking for (preferably) a three or four season backpacking tent for a Scouting trip. It does need to be in fairly good condition for me to consider buying it.

Preferably, I'd love for it to be along the lines of an old North Face tent that I used to have called the Bullfrog. It was super easy to set up and was very light. But these types of tents are horribly expensive at places like REI, the Bass Pro Shop or Whole Earth Provisions.

But anything along those lines would do. Just need it to be light, effective and with a rain cover included.

If you have one that you would like to sell, please send me a PM or an e-mail. Although I don't mind a trade, honestly, I would just prefer to pay you your asking price. All of the craigslist postings are coming up with nothing for me to consider.

Thanks!
Elisabeth

The tent would be lighter if you drop the cover and go bareback.
EW... Have you looked as Academy ? Tents these days are pretty cheep... Sure the high end places are going to charge an arm and a leg... But the sports outlet type places should have what your looking for..

Having never set foot inside a tent, I can't directly help. However, you might check eBay. I would imagine the depreciation on a used tent is substantial.

If you buy a new tent from any of the discounters, open it first and make sure all the parts are there. It's an ongoing problem.
