Several months in have things changed?

boardman's Avatar
The legislation we all talked about went into full effect in January. This time a year ago a lot of members were predicting doom and gloom. Some sites have gone away but this one seems to have survived so far by making some relatively minor changes. P411 was iffy for a while and that caused a lot of frustration for both providers and clients regarding screening. It feels like some of that tension has eased up.
So, open question for ladies and gents.

Has Sesta/Fosta been what you expected?
As a collective, did we over react?

Are you more or less confident or just neutral on the direction of the hobby?

It's been what I expected. This political issue I knew it would die down as the investigations into Trumps whore activites heated up. Let's face it anytime you spend $130k for a one time bareback of a hooker you lose credibility. And then another $250k to bareback a pornstar for a couple of months I knew they would try to minimize the impact of Sesta / Fosta to deflect attention. But you cant run away from yourself because everywhere you turn...well... there you are.

Good topic OP although this belongs in the political forum.;-)

Too fucking easy.

Jump sissy boy, don't ask how high, just jump. I'll let you know when it's high enough...

So now that we've got that past us does anyone have anything relevant to say?

This legislation has had significant impact. On a local level 2/3 of the businesses I frequent have closed, most of my regular long time providers have gone UTR and If you encounter Law enforcement charges, fines and time have increased. Nationally in my travels I have seen similar effects. Internationally I have seen mild changes as well. Although things have calmed down bit election time is around the corner and things will heat up and the changes that have occurred will never go back to business as usual.

Some providers may have gone UTR, others seem to have just toned it down a bit with advertising and such but it feels like that is coming back.

Is CJ really enforcing charges. I heard part of a report recently that suggested that the Democrat judges in Harris county seem to have collectively decided to significantly lower, or even eliminate altogether, bail on certain misdemeanors including prostitution. Sorry, I don't have a link to it and I didn't catch the whole story. It was on KTRH morning drive.

I wonder how many charges and convictions there have been in Houston and nationwide under Sesta/Fosta.

I rarely venture into coed, and I’ll probably regret this foray, but seems like an interesting topic. Biggest change I’ve noticed is just what the birds allow to be posted. I haven’t seen indies really change their practices (outside of advertising). I would ascribe the closing of spas more to local LE activity than to SESTA / FOSTA, but I may be wrong there. Same with the agency raids of last year.
I think everyone knew there would be change. It really hasn't affected me. The ladies are still here to see...even some nice spa ladies. They are just more careful and should be.
Since sc turned this into a political thing.....I wouldn't mind doing aoc as long as she doesn't charge over $120
Anyone have her cell?
Da great has seen no change at all, besides eccie shutting down for a few, but it hasn't affected da great at all as far as pussy getting. Please Boardman, your comments to sisto are offensive to me. Da great has great disdain for the rtm button because it equates to snitching and in my world that's unacceptable, so da great is kindly asking you to please refrain from derogatory remarks to my homie. Boy is a derogatory term. It is not acceptable on any level. Thanks. Tooodlez

Now grow some balls and go to the police and help that girl that you admitted is being held against her will and forced into prostitution. You disgust me.

Even if they end up prevailing, they are going to eat a massive legal bill when they come after them.

I think what they wanted was for backpage to be gone, even though sesta/fosta was enacted after backpage was gone, it was the catalyst that started it all. So now that backpage is gone, all the commotion and attention to the matter seems to have died down.

But I would not get too comfortable, they brought one site down and will do it again when they want. Citizen44 has stated it's only a matter of time, and he may be correct. Who knows?
