Mr. Musk random sweepstakes $ 1 million

Now Mr. Must is giving away random million dollar prizes to those who sign his petition, or something like that, if I don't have the details correct.

Should this be allowed under election funding laws ?

Paying for votes is illegal. Paying to sign petitions is also.

Donating to a campaign isn't. So likely a fine line. Sadly election donations that have been caught like Dinesh D'Souza, rarely result in anything super negative like jail time, and even if they do - if they are a GOP office supporter, that propels them up the food chain. Showing their loyalty and fealty to kiss the ring.

Sounds like the third book of some Lord of the rings trilogy about made up bullshit but it's true.
Have to think Elon's betting that if Trump doesn't get back into office, paying any potential fines from the FEC is going to be small potatoes, compared to a potential effort to make X/Twitter into a utility, and all the regulations that would come with it.

While federal law dictates that paying individuals to vote or accepting payment for voter registration or voting is an offense, compensating people for signing petitions or for convincing others to sign petitions is not against the law.
Maybe not illegal......but probably should be, for many reasons. Just imagine the MAGA outcry if Bill Gates offered a similar "deal". If indeed a legal loophole, it should be closed as a bipartisan initiative.

You may recall that they back peddled briskly and modified it to include random "other" target groups after trying to recessitate their racism.

After it coded blue, they rolled out their big gun to lecture and threaten the bruthas.

Luckily (thankfully) they pretty much told him to piss off. What an ID-10-T !!

If it was done just by a team canvasing non-registered voters- I'd maybe buy it.

But these are done at TRUMP RALLIES. How the fuck do you not align that to buying votes? I am certain that most ppl at the rallies are already registered to vote, and RED HAT folk have been barking at everyone they know to vote for Team Trump since 2016, because they hated Barry so bad. While a majority of them feel that way because they are either overt racists, or they hated that Obama actually got shit done; they are still so angry that they call Obama 's wife a guy- which is funny since she gave birth to 2 children.

When you are paying for voters to get registered- that isn't illegal, but anything additionally to incentivize a vote sway surely is.

This loophole needs to get ruled on in short order; and changed before the next election.

What won't the GOP do to push Trump over in PA or GA?

I'm betting nothing is off limits- and is another reason the DEMS need to meet the GOP in the middle of their game; if ppl are buying registrations; the DEMS SHOULD be doing that too.

I know a guy named Soros' - Bet he's got a few extra millions to get MORE DEMS to vote. Good for the goose----you know the rest.

Nothing. Another hijacked thread.

Musk should,be,investigated for the very thing Twitler accuses everybody else of. Except in Musk’s case, there are statues in place that aren’t drivel from a demented dictator wannabe.

Still waiting to see how having a sweepstake and giving away a prize validates how someone votes in the future. Is there contract language to enforce the claim? Besides, the whole of Congress should be as well as any political candidate. Start there and get back to us. Vote for me for free stuff...

Mark Cuban already admitted that it was entirely legal after he looked into it.

Then that makes it true. And appropriate.

Musks offer, like it is r not, is 100% legal. What’s not, and a blatant violation of the civil rights act, is bribing black men with 20k and recreational botany. Kamala sure has a low opinion of black dudes, figures they’re all Snoop and stupid enough to not realize the “loan program” has no chance of holding up in court.
