Home security systems

So my SO wants a ring security system but I'm fighting her on it as I don't want anyone knowing when I come in or out while shes out of town. Is there a system that would allow me to turn off the camera without her seeing me do it? I know it's asking a lot but you don't know if you don't ask. Tia

Security systems are made for a purpose. To defeat the purpose, it must be removed.

I have Arlo cameras, and I can put them in service mode which turns off the camera.

There are large holes in the cameras range. The range is not that great, so unless your purchasing top of the line cameras chances are you will be able to defeat the cameras by figure out their limitations.

You can always use the excuse you went to home depot, buy a bag of potting soil and have a receipt to back it up. Then tell her you were board and wanted to kill time dreaming about the tools at HD.
