WikiLeaks founder chooses to blackmail

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/...rticle1825922/

At the centre of a tightening web of death threats, sex-crime accusations and high-level demands for a treason trial, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange threatened to unleash a “thermonuclear device” of completely unexpurgated government files if he is forced to appear before authorities.

Moron much? You can't wave a red flag like that in front of so many national governments. By saying so publicly he's forcing their hand, as acquiescence sets a new standard of blackmail against government.

I wouldn't be surprised if he dies in an unexplained car accident...

A modern Rasputin in the making.
It's going to make a great book/movie someday.

I've got a "guess the contents of the encrypted file" thread going in Houston-Sandbox.

My top 3 guesses:

1) Obama's Nigerian Birth Certificate
2) The Neimann-Marcus $250 chocolate chip cookie recipe.
3) Cross reference of all the multiple handle accts here on eccie

WikiLeaks founder denied bail ahead of hearing

The allegations that Assange raped and sexual molested one woman and sexually molested and unlawfully coerced another stem from a "dispute over consensual but unprotected sex," Stephens said.

Somehow it doesn't surprise me that a megalomaniac would commit such an awful act. I think an added charge of treason is appropriate.
So far, he has disclosed that people on opposite sides and "friends" talk about each other, sometimes in frank and less than flattering terms...yawwwwn.
It's a bit like somebody getting drunk at a party and making bitchy comments in too loud a voice. Nobody is shocked that such things happen. But it's still awkward to be overheard by the person you are talking about.
