Dallas and SBC have very different cultures.
I've only been to one AMP in Dallas. It was probably 12 years ago and if memory serves it was off of Harry Hines. I recall it being a short row buildings, each painted a different color. As I was walking in another man was coming out. He shook his head at me and said that this place was crazy. He was laughing as he said it. What followed was a great experience.
One of many great AMP experiences that I've had in different places.
None of those great AMP experiences have happened in the SBC.
There are two factors to what you find here. The first is that the AMPs here that do offer extras tend to be low on quality. The Second is that LEO is aggressively going after these places.
If I'm being honest, I find it stupid. Police are a necessary part of the community. We need them and we need more of them than what we have. We have violent crimes all over Shreveport. There are shootings. Thugs vandalizing people's cars. Actual crimes being committed in which people are getting hurt and the community is being made to feel unsafe.
But what do we focus on?
Harmless little immigrants who will give a guy a handjob for an extra $20 to $40.
We can't find the asshole who fired shots in Queenburough a few weeks ago but that's okay because we locked up that little old lady who was jerking dudes off. So the city is a safer place and we'll call it human trafficking even though there is absolutely no connection just so we can say we did our jobs.
Because that's how we do things in the SBC.
I think with Dallas the police are probably out there actually working and trying to stop real crimes.
I could be wrong. That's just how it appears to me.
