Some AMP numbers

I was roaming around on Rubmaps and noticed they have numbers of AMPs listed. For example, they say there are 192 in Louisiana. 47 in Baton Rouge. 6821 in California!! 1334 in Florida. 2095 in NY state. 1769 in Texas. 145 in Dallas.

I checked the ones they listed in Metairie (an area I think I know pretty well) and they have most but not all the current AMPs.

Has anyone ever come across a good article on the overall economics of the AMP industry in the US? It must be an eyepopping number. Also, there must be some serious kickback streams to keep LE and the politicians happy.

I would be super interested in that kind of info if you find it. I’m kind of fascinated by the industry.
