Martin & Lewis together again

Martin and Lewis .....together again....RIP Jerry Lewis....

can't say he was cheated out of some years.. his son Gary (Gary Lewis and the Playboys) is 71.. I was always ambivalent about "Jerry's kids".. I know Lewis took a lot of flack about that charity, how it invaded our TV sets every Labor Day.. how he would always sing "you'll never walk alone" at the end of each telethon. that was some smarmy shit.

but at times he looked stunningly sincere and convincing.

He put too much of himself into that effort for it to simply be a vanity project. I'm not a huge fan of his comedy, but am of his heart.

I always thought one of his best roles was as Jerry Langford in The King of Comedy. I may have to watch that one again this week.

I should say so. He was nominated for an Oscar for that role. I believe that was his only nomination.

A lot of his early comedy was pretty ground-breaking and inspired a lot of current stars.
