Stand proud and be counted!

I was having a chat some time ago with a lady friend of mine and she admitted, with lowered head and shameful eyes, that she likes to play video games. She also seemed surprised when i said i do as well (Not an excessive amount, but it's nice to eviscerate a zombie every now and then). I had been under the impression that gaming has become much more mainstream, with both men and women. Are any ladies or gents willing to jump out of the figurative closet on this one?

Gaming will never become mainstream because people have lives with time commitments.
Wii bowling is addictive.
So is the tennis one.
I play World of Tanks, its an on-line game but its so much fun killing the other tanks.

There's a time that I got hooked on Wii sports golf and Tiger Woods golf.
I was always trying to see if I can beat my score over and over!

Video games are just a form of entertainment, some can be addicted to it, as they can be addicted to gambling. If someone has an addictive personality, they could easily be addicted to video games, as they could drugs, alcohol, work, escorts, etc.!

I got sucked into a game hardcore for about 5 months and spent nearly $300 for items. I would sometimes log 16 hours in a day for consecutive days until my fingers were raw (played on a tablet). It was an online based game, so I really think the obsession came from the community and wanting to help those in my guild. Very strong correlation to why there is a hobby community with almost 250k people, full bars, and full churches. At the end of the day we just want to get in where we fit in.

Oh yes, my video gaming goes right back to black and white Pong. I was hooked right away and have been an avid gamer ever since and have owned just about every gaming system. I was there for the rise and fall of the video game arcades too (miss them!) Right now I have a setup in the living room with a PS3 and then a separate game room with a PS3, PS2, PS1, Wii, Gamecube, SNES and Genesis set up. Both have big flat screens and surround systems. Portable games? Sure, multiple Gameboys, two Virtual Boys (the short-lived 3D Nintendo effort) and a Vita. Unfortunately what I don't have a lot of is time, I rarely play anymore. But my son has picked up the baton, LOL!
